Interval, breathing, meditation and alarm for iOS
One timer for training, breathing and meditation
Tabata, HIIT and CrossFit intervals. Guided breathing. A calm meditation bell. And an alarm that actually goes off. All in one app that keeps counting correctly on a locked screen.
Reliable
Goes off when it should
Timing is anchored to a real moment, not a ticking counter that can miss the background. Put your phone away, lock it, switch apps: the time stays correct. And the alarm is a real AlarmKit alarm that breaks through Silent and Focus.
- Date-anchored timing, correct after backgrounding and locking
- Real AlarmKit alarm (iOS 26+), with an honest fallback below
- Keeps ringing until you stop it, repeat per weekday and snooze
The wedge
Voice cues and music ducking that work
Exactly where most timer apps fall down: NanoTimer announces phases out loud, counts in with beeps and vibrates, while your own music or podcast keeps playing and only ducks briefly during a cue.
✓ Free, alwaysWorkouts
Every interval, from Tabata to CrossFit
Tabata, HIIT and Custom, with warm-up and cooldown. Plus the CrossFit modes EMOM, AMRAP and For Time, and named sequences: circuits with your own step names spoken out loud. Building and running is free.

Breathing and meditation are built in
Next to the training side, NanoTimer has its own Breathe tab and a meditation timer. Not a library of courses, just a clock that sets the pace. Complete and free.
- Breathe: Box, Coherent, 4-7-8 and Relax, or set your own phases
- A breathing orb to follow, with silent, tone or spoken cues
- Meditation: a calm countdown with a soft interval bell
- Works in the dark, with ambient sound and Reduce Motion
Design
Readable at a glance
A full-screen runner where colour is the state: orange for work, cool teal for rest. In landscape one giant counter, perfect for your phone on the mat. Live Activity and Dynamic Island keep the time on your Lock Screen, and a widget starts your favourite in one tap.

Frequently asked questions
- Is NanoTimer free?
- Yes. Building and running every timer and interval type is free, as are the voice cues, music ducking, the AlarmKit alarm, the stopwatch and the meditation timer. Pro is a one-time €6.99 and adds an unlimited library and deep stats. Never ads, never a subscription.
- Does the alarm go off when my phone is on Silent?
- Yes. The alarm uses AlarmKit and breaks through Silent and Focus, and keeps ringing until you stop it. That works on iOS 26 and up; below that there is an honest fallback.
- Does the timer work on a locked screen?
- Yes. Timing is anchored to a real moment, so it stays correct after you send the app to the background or lock your phone. Live Activity and Dynamic Island show the remaining time on your Lock Screen.
- Does my music keep playing during a workout?
- Yes. Your own music or podcast keeps playing and only ducks briefly during a voice cue or beep. Exactly where many other interval apps fall down.
- Which workout timers are included?
- Tabata, HIIT and Custom, with warm-up and cooldown, plus the CrossFit modes EMOM, AMRAP and For Time. You can also build named sequences: circuits with your own step names spoken out loud. Building and running everything is free.
- Which devices does NanoTimer run on?
- iPhone, iPad and Mac. NanoTimer needs iOS 18 or up; the AlarmKit alarm works on iOS 26 and up.
