Visual timer

A visual timer shows the time left as a ring that empties, not as numbers. Useful for children, in the classroom, or for tasks where time feels abstract.

How it works

  1. Set the time and tap Start. The ring visibly empties, so you can see how much is left at a glance.
  2. Ideal for a tidy-up game, an exam section or brushing teeth: no numbers to read, just watch.
  3. A soft tone marks the end.
  4. On your phone you can put the visual timer on your Home Screen as a widget. Open it in NanoTimer.

Frequently asked questions

Who is a visual timer for?
Anyone for whom time is abstract: young children who cannot read a clock yet, people who find time hard to judge, or a class where everyone needs to see the time left at a glance. The shape running down says more than a number.
Why a ring instead of numbers?
Because you take in an emptying ring without thinking, while numbers have to be read and converted first. For a sense of time the shape works better, especially for children.
Can I set the time myself?
Yes, pick any duration you want. The presets are five, ten, fifteen and twenty minutes, but you can enter your own.
