30 second timer
A thirty second timer with a sound at the end. Half a minute is the workhorse of short timing: one quadrant of brushing your teeth, a plank hold, a rest between sets.

How it works
- Tap Start and follow the ring down to zero.
- Brushing: dentists split the two minute routine into four quadrants of thirty seconds each.
- Training: a thirty second hold, or the short rest between lighter sets.
- A tone marks the end. On your phone the same timer runs in the background.
Frequently asked questions
- Why thirty seconds for brushing?
- Because the standard advice is two minutes total, split evenly over the four quadrants of your mouth. Thirty seconds each is what makes the two minutes add up, and it stops the usual habit of over-brushing the front teeth and rushing the back.
- Is thirty seconds a good rest between sets?
- For lighter, higher-rep work, yes. For heavy strength sets it is short; ninety seconds to a few minutes is more usual there. The shorter the rest, the more it becomes conditioning rather than strength work.
- Can I chain thirty second rounds?
- Not on this page, which counts down once. The interval timer repeats a work and rest pattern for as many rounds as you set, which is what you want for circuits.
